It’s the event you don’t want to miss. It’s always a sell-out and one of the social highlights of the media calendar and an important fund-raiser for our very own charity.

 

The London Press Club has been running the annual press ball for the past seven years and so far has raised more than £240,000 for the Journalists Charity. The ball is a glittering upmarket event attended by chief executives, editors, journalists and television presenters and programme makers from the major national newspapers and TV companies.

 

It’s held in the Great Hall of the Natural History Museum hosted by high profile presenters such as Jeremy Vine, Katie Derham, Mary Nightingale, Daisy McAndrew and Kate Silverton.

 

The highlight of the evening is the fabulous “Money Can’t Buy” auction to raise funds for the Journalists’ Charity. The top item is a car and there are always fantastic holidays to bid for. Over the years our auctioneers have included Nick Bonham, Lord Dalmeny of Sotheby’s, Hugh Edmeades of Christies, Christopher Biggins, James Braxton from BBC TV’s Bargain Hunt and Flog It! and last year Chris Tarrant, host of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?
